Dear kindergarten families,
Welcome to Suddaby, home of the Stars! If you are new to our school you will find us to be a warm and friendly group determined to build a strong community of learners. We can’t wait to meet you in person!
Our 2020 Kindie Staff
At this point, Suddaby has 4 kindergarten classes for 2020-2021. All are JK/SK blends with about 27 students in each. (The numbers seem to change almost daily so this may change.) Each class has one or two DECEs and a teacher who are all eager to meet and begin learning with our kindergarten friends.

Welcome to Kindergarten Bags
Suddaby is grateful to the WRDSB for providing WTK (Welcome To Kindergarten) bags for each of our students who are coming to kindergarten for the first time in JK (or SK). These will be handed out to families who are able to pick them up this Wednesday, June 24, 2020, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the back of the school. Otherwise, we will save them for the students until the beginning of the school year.
Getting Ready For Kindergarten
Enjoy Suddaby’s slide show linked below. Take a peek to see pictures of and learn a little bit about our team members.
Nervous about kindergarten? These Suddaby social stories might help! Feel free to print and read with your child several times over the summer.

Your Homework!
What? Homework in kindergarten? We promise this is easy and fun!
For parents:
If you have not already registered your email on SchoolDay, please follow the instructions that will be provided. SchoolDay is our primary mode of communication from the office and you will need SchoolDay to order pizza and give permission for your class to go on field trips.
For Students:
In your WTK bag, you will find a white star. Please add your name and then decorate your star however you like. We hope to add everyone’s Star to a welcome back bulletin board.
Welcome to Kindergarten
We will be reaching out to you in the last week of August. At this point due to the pandemic, we don’t know quite what that will look like – a phone call, a google meet, or an open house. Stay tuned, more information will follow.
Suddaby is a great school and we will be even better when you join! Let’s all hope that we can learn together here at school in the fall.
Stay healthy and enjoy your summer!
See you soon,
The Suddaby Kindergarten Team
