Hi everyone, 

 

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!  We are so excited for our first day of school on Tuesday, September 6th.  Please read below for some important information.

 

Day 1 Class Assignments and Drop Off:

At this time, WRDSB schools are unable to share classroom or teacher assignments via School-Day. Instead, on September 6th, students will find out their class assignments in person at the school.  Kindergarten students will be gathered at the front of the school.  Kindergarten caregivers will need to stay with their student(s) until they are met by the appropriate educator. 

 

Grade 1 to 6 students will be gathered at the back of the school.  You will see signage for all the classes.  At or around 9:00 am, educators will help students find their line.

 

Pick Up:

Caregivers of Grade 1 – 6 students, please arrange a meeting spot to pick up your student(s).

 

For caregivers of kindergarten students, pick-up will take place at the front of our school.  Pick-up for our kindergarten students is hand over hand.

 

Playground: 

In order to effectively supervise our Suddaby Stars, the playground will be closed each morning from 8:45 – 9:00 am and at dismissal from 3:20 – 3:40 pm.

 

Our Primary and Junior students will be able to enjoy the playground at both nutrition breaks, and educators in all grades often bring students out throughout the day as part of their daily activity time. 

 

Outside of our school day, community members are welcome to use the playground, with the understanding that there is no school supervision. 

 

Weather: 

Please dress for the weather.  On a daily basis, students will be met by the educators and go into the building at 9:00 am, regardless of the weather conditions.  Students will need to be prepared for rain, and eventually, for cold temperatures as well.

Save the Date – Suddaby Open House:

We are excited to meet all of our Star’s caregivers. Please join us on Thursday, September 15, 2022, between 6:00 and 7:00 pm to visit your child’s classroom and meet our educators.  

 

Facility  Update:

The new windows are in! The HVAC system is still being worked on. This meant that our educators were not allowed in the building until September 1.  They are doing a great job of using the time available to get everything ready for our Stars.  

We are looking forward to having all of our Stars back! Let’s work together to make it a great year!
